WHAT YOU GET FROM MENTAL COACHING

Knowledge about how the brain works and about your thoughts and emotions

To grow as persons and climbers, and to change old habits and thought patterns it's important to know why we act and think like we do. You learn how to find out about your limiting beliefs and triggers to be able to turn them around.

Tools to handle your thoughts and emotions

The goal is for you to be able to handle different challenging situations on your own. You'll get to try tools that can help you in different situations and then you can keep the ones that works for you to keep working on yourself.

Insight of your values and goals

To be able to change your recent patterns you need to know what your values in life and climbing are. And then put up goals that matches your values. Together we will find out what your values and goals are so you can prioritize yourself and your wellbeing in the process of changing your old habits and thought patterns.

You will then easier take decisions and follow through on what you want to accomplish.

Think and speak positively about yourself

With help of affirmations, wins and reprogramming of your thought patterns you will get a better self confidence and see possibilities instead of obsticles! And you will be ok with the eventuality of failure and instead see growth.

One way to handle your emotions

You will learn breathing and visualisation techniques that will help you handle and be present in your fears, nervosity and moments of worry.

The techniques will help you focus and relax.

They will teach you to dare to challenge yourself.

You will be able to climb relaxed and have fun!

You will be able to try hard and push yourself if your goal is to climb harder.

ONLINE COACHING PROGRAM

8 sessions of 60 minutes over a period of 3 months

Homework and follow-up in the TrueCoach app

Possibility to contact Daniela for questions

Access to materials for, among other things, visualizations and breathing exercises

You are recommended to write a diary/reflect a lot at the beginning of the coaching

The process requires that you trust your coach and are willing to open up and think differently than you have done before. You will be given questions and exercises that will make you begin to pay attention to your and others' behaviors, thinking patterns, and emotional reactions.

The goal is to be able to break old patterns and routines that hold you back and prevent you from becoming the climber and person you dream of being!

Reviews

I bring with me a new hope of being able to handle my fears in climbing as well as a repertoire of exercises/strategies I can put together to get me there (and then continue to work on). I have gotten rid of the feeling that I am a hopeless case and no longer made for climbing, now I see myself as one of everyone else who has fears and needs to work on them. I also feel that I am more permissive towards myself, that it is ok to be afraid and that I can take it in small steps (for example, fall training, I have previously pushed myself in it so that I mostly got an increased fear of falls).

A very good and easy-to-understand overview of the factors that are relevant to both climbing and life. Would be useful for everyone, not just climbers.
I've learned that it's better to stay in discomfort for a while than rush to the top. Completing something is worthless - feeling soft and balanced on the trail is wonderful.
The course gives you a detailed map of your inner self and how to navigate between your feelings and thoughts along with practical exercises.

I’ve never had coaching before for the mental side of climbing - and this was very helpful. Partly to realize what are the parts that I need to work on and to have tools / exercises to work on the challenges I have.
I have a more positive mindset during climbing in general, and I’m more eager to try harder routes (even though I don’t always succeed on those).

Heli Vauhkala

During the course, I have become more aware of how private life affects climbing, and how things are reflected and appear as "problems" within climbing but which actually have to do with something completely different.
Inspiring and developing course in mental training to take climbing to new levels.

Stephanie Robertson

Good exercises, personal feedback, wise advice, many aha moments. I don't find myself thinking about the fear of failure as often, I dare to try more.
